Air Central Station commonly known as AirCS is a major transportation network on the server. It was formerly owned by Aren. In 2020, the AirCS Foundation was established with Victor and The Pixel Polygon as its owners.

AirCS was formerly owned by Aren, he initially built the first line between AirCS Central Station to Whale City. He also made an enchanting store known as "Arenchant". But once he became inactive, the community decided to expand it to where it has 6 stations. The Pixel Polygon also came up with the now famous branding.

Once bits & Bytes Vanilla 2 began, The Pixel Polygon decided to revive it under "Project: Aren". He also documented the entire process of building it on his YouTube channel. Only 3 platforms were made during this time. AirCS wasn't as popular during this time due to local transportation system existing and SQTR started to exist during this time as well. New Verona was planned to be added as a station in AirCS but The Pixel Polygon was embargoed from building there.

bits & Bytes Minecraft 1.1

When bits & Bytes Minecraft 1.1 was revived, AirCS became very popular with the community and more stations appeared. Royce decided to bring SQTR to bits & Bytes Minecraft 1.1 in order to compete with the AirCS. Orphan stations were introduced during this time due to central station not having enough room for more stations.

bits & Bytes Minecraft 5/Q

There were plans for AirCS coming to bnbmc5/Q but there were little progress to it, and at the same time The Pixel Polygon established the AirCS Foundation which is still active to this day.

bits & Bytes Minecraft 1.2

After the AirCS race, AirCS kept growing in terms of more orphan stations, but now there were long distances rail, such as VIC it would take approximately 2 minutes to arrive there, and Palinode took 17 minutes. The AirCS Foundation decide to look for other alternatives to rail as it was not feasible for very long distance travel. AirCS 255 and AirCS Aqua were established to shorten the travel time and could travel over 1000+ blocks.

Transit Systems

AirCS Rail

Rail-based transit has been a part of AirCS since its inception, and is the most commonly used service. The rail standard has seen very minimal changes, and is one of the easiest systems to build.

AirCS 255

AirCS 255 is a straight tube with walls, ceiling, and a floor that riders run through once they have received a highly amplified speed effect. This solution works best for two stations that are situated very far away from each other.

AirCS Aqua

AirCS Aqua is a water-based transportation system designed during bits & Bytes Vanilla 1.2. The system attains its maximum stock speed based on three components:

  • Dolphin’s Grace
  • Soul Speed III
  • Depth Strider III

Each of these effects greatly multiply the speed boost given to the player during the course of the line. In addition, any additional speed boosts that may already be applied to the rider (such as speed potions or nearby beacons) stack on top of these effects as well for even greater speeds.

Discontinued Transit Systems

orbis. Q

Before AirCS 255 and AirCS Aqua, there was the orbis. Q which was similar to AirCS 255, but it was using teleportation instead of speed. The orbis. Q doesn't work well as it was glitchy and by bnbmc1.2, it was discontinued. It only went from Whale City to VIC. It used to an independent system before it being acquired by the AirCS Foundation.
