The Kemonomimi Republic, simply known as KR and formerly the City State of Melanie City, is a country consisting of five provinces and one territory that was founded in May 2018.
History
There was a war or something between the Kemonomimis or whatever but they eventually learned how to stop being mean :(
Geography
KR consists of five provinces and one territory: Melanie City (province), Kemonomimia, Beacon, Utopia, Saga, and Kanon.
Government and politics
KR is a federal presidential republic with a bicameral legislature. The head of government is the President of the Kemonomimi Republic. The Legislature consists of both the House of Representatives and Upper House. The President is democratically by all citizens as a national popular vote. Both houses of the Legislature (presumably) are democratically elected by citizens of each province. Each province is assigned one member for the Upper House, to be elected in a province-wide election each term of unknown length. Each province is also assigned representatives for the House of Representatives based on their population. At the start of each term, both houses elect their Speaker and other officers. Provinces have their own courts according to the Constitution, but there is one Supreme Court of the Kemonomimi Republic, as the highest court in the nation.
The Constitution, requiring a three-fourths vote from both the Upper House and House of Representatives, has not been amended yet.
The President is the commander-in-chief of the KR Military, with the power and duty to enforce all Kemonomimian federal laws.
Federal overreach debates
There is often political debate on the power of the federal government.
From the seventh clause in Article 5 of the KR Constitution:
Any powers not delegated to the national government by this constitution shall be given to the provinces.
However, the Constitution only delegates the specific powers of commanding the KR military and the power of the Supreme Court. The Legislature has been given no specific authority in the whole Constitution, leading to debates on how much power the Legislature is supposed to have.
Culture and society
Kemonomimians often disregard gender in day-to-day lives, and it is usually not paid attention to for any reason. For example, anyone is allowed to be a maid at any maid cafe in the nation.
