The Supreme Court of Legal District (also known as Legal District Supreme Court and SCLD) is a court of law in bits & Bytes Vanilla, located in Legal District. It is the only court under the direct jurisdiction of the server administration.
Jurisdiction
The Supreme Court of Legal District operates as the highest court on the server. As such, it also serves as the final appellate court for all countries on the server. It may uphold rulings made by a lower court, or overrule them. It also has the jurisdiction to suspend any law or any part of a law in another country that may be deemed unconstitutional according to Server Law. For matters dealing with international diplomacy, especially in cases involving the sovereignty and/or the territorial integrity of one or more countries, the court is the sole authority to pass rulings on these cases.
In countries where a proper justice system is not implemented, the court may also hear cases directly from these countries.
Procedures
Most cases tried by the court are conducted as bench trials. It is impermissible within the court to use creative mode, or to exit from the proceedings prematurely.
